PROFESSIONAL COUPLE PAY $8.65 MILLION FOR SOUL SURFERS PARADISE SUB-PENTHOUSE
A couple from Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs has paid almost $9 million for a 62nd floor sub-penthouse at Soul Surfers Paradise after conducting an extensive worldwide search for a premium beach-front home for their family.
Dr Cyril Harrisberg and wife Monique, who own The Voice Clinic, an international training company, have purchased a 460sq m sub-penthouse for $8.65 million in the 77-level Soul tower currently under construction at Cavill Avenue.
The couple, who have extensive knowledge of international property, believe the $850 million Juniper Group development provides an ideal investment opportunity in the current economic climate.
“History shows that premium property is always a wise investment at times like these and premium beachfront property is an even safer bet,” Dr Harrisberg said.
“We wanted a beachfront home that offered security and the size of a luxury home in a convenient and cosmopolitan location. Soul offers all this, as well as being stylish and a fantastic design.”
The 62nd floor sub-penthouse has uninterrupted views towards Byron Bay to the south and Stradbroke Island to the north. It is the fourth multi-million-dollar sub-penthouse sale to be negotiated by Amanda Conduit, Soul’s Senior Sales Consultant.
The Harrisbergs will work alongside Juniper Group to customise the internal fit-out to their family’s requirements.
Juniper Group Sales Manager David Kortlang said Soul was attracting increasing interest from people searching for sophisticated beachfront homes with all the hallmarks of a solid long-term investment
“With global share markets struggling at the moment, investors are turning to the tried and tested security of premium property,” he said.
“Our sales success proves that our original vision for an iconic beachfront tower - mixing the best elements of residential and retail living - is exactly what the modern top-end buyer wants.
“As well as setting an Australian record price for a penthouse apartment in 2006 at $16.85 million, Soul continues to obtain sales for premium beachfront property, adding to the amount of excitement that already surrounds the project.”
The residential and retail tower will be home to up to 288 luxury apartments overlooking one of Australia’s best-known beaches in a location that can never be built out.
Soul will be the centrepiece of the revitalised Surfers Paradise Esplanade and its 5,500sq m multi-million-dollar retail plaza is designed to attract a new level of fashion and style for Surfers Paradise.
Final completion of the tower is expected to take place mid-2011.
